Well im new to limewire
i have downloaded a song and a movie but when i wanted to watch them it wasn't working
insted they were putting i shoud install some program called : Play Free Mp3's and whenever i try to install and setup this program it wouldn't work , so what shoud i do ?? plz i need quick answers

but what i used to do is go into recently changed and it should show your new downloads. and you can just open it with whatever. or if you have windows, press the start button and go to search and type in the name of the movie or song you want to watch.. :)

I downloaded a song from iTunes, and it's the Live version from this particular artist (there are no other versions of this song by this artist). Is there someway that I can cut off (edit) the last minute or so from the audience cheering and what-not?
I don't have any song editing software, only iTunes.
FYI - the song has been legally paid for. (which how I found out about the cheering of the song at the end)

any of them i would suspect. the only requirement for them, as peer to peer services, is that a user is connected that has such songs on their hard drive, as you can only download stuff other users are offering. there's no central authority providing the content or deciding what you can or can't see.

They all a bunch of rip offs. Theres none of them free for real from the experience Iv had. But Im lucky enough to have a pal who has access to a site that they pay for with unlimited access, and he gets me the occasional stuff, But I dont like to take the mick and ask for too much.

No, it's not a problem with your computer. Some artists and their representatives have put up bad versions of their songs to make you waste your time and download them only to get only a bit of the song, or a repeated section of the song. A lot of people will download them, so you think they're legitimate, but it's all just a scam. Listen to downloads as you download to see if you're getting a bad one. If you are, stop that download and choose another version of the song and try again. Good luck!

This is simple to do. Open up your media player of choice. If it is windows media player. Just go to "file" and then "open". Select where the music files are and highlight each one you want to listen to. If it is all of the simply highlight the first song and then depress CTRL + A and that will highlight all files in that folder. Then click on "open" at the bottom right of the file window. Most of the time widows media player will recognize that these are new files and will add the automatically to the media player listing of albums and artists.

Yes, its completely possible with garageband. You need to go into the track details. I don't have GB in front of me so i'm unsure now as to what the effect is called, you'll have to experiment: but you have to run the song track in dual mono, (copy the existing track onto another track) so you have two tracks of the song. In the track details, you will be able to phase shift each of the tracks so they are phased opposite (make sure its not a modulating phase shift). if the original song was mixed down with dual mono, you will be able to cancel out the vocal line. if it was recorded in true stereo, the vocals will be weak but still there.
That is essentially what the expensive voice removal software does.
so, yes, it can be done on garage band

Try www.soundchoice.com ( I have their version of Weak and powerless) and www.sunfly.com. pop hits monthly rock may also have them. You'll only get hit songs not whole albums tho and they won't be exactly like the originals but some are better than others.

I have a website, but don't know how to create a temporary ftp site where people can login and download a song file. I'm attending a large music conference and instead of giving out thousands of promotional cd's I want to hand out small pieces of paper with download instructions. I can send my mp3's by email to a percentage of conference attendents, but I won't know the email address of passersby. I also don't want to make my songs available for free download to everybody, just certain people.

Probably better to have a password protected directory on your website. Making an FTP site can be a royal pain, especially for such a short term thing. On the other hand if you want long term use, and the web site is totally your own, its a good idea, worth the effort, but will require some good code. Easy enough in Frontpage, somewhat more involved in other editors.

I also let my friends access my pictures folder, so they can view in thumbnail all my pictures before they download ones that interest them... With GigaTribe there's no limit to the file sizes downloaded either, so they can even download your promotional video if you have one. The software is free by the way...
