What's the difference between downloading a song and recording it off the radio?

They want to prosecute us if we download a song and put it on a disc (stores sell blank discs) and yet it's ok to record a song off the radio onto a tape cassette (stores sell blank tapes).

What's the difference between downloading a song and recording it off the radio?
What are record companies trying to sell? CDs!

That is what has to do with a lot it. Electronically available music is easier to get and is more desirable for the majority of people.

Plus, it is easier to monitor what is being shared illegally when it is electronic. Tabs and histories are easier to be seen and compiled whenever a lawsuit is in the works.

I really don't think that quality is the main issue, because MP3s are worse quality than silver discs or lossless audio formats.

I can go on and on, but I think you can see what is the main points, and you can figure out a lot of the rest.
Reply:the quality is all that matters. recording from radio is not as good an experience as listening it on a cd.
