At first, limewire was working orrectly. But now, when I try to download a song, I get a message saying that I need more resources. I click on "get more resources", I wait until the resources are found but the download progress is still at 0%.
What can I do to download a song from limewire successfully?
you may just need to download a different version of the song if that does not work. it gets frustrating i know..but the only way you can fix that is if you upgrade to premium and actually PAY for limewire.
Reply:i'm assuming your aware that limewire is only legal to use if the person uploading a file owns the copyright to that file.
so basically anything that for example is comercially avalable (major recording (known) artists) is ILLEGAL to download.
I was advised that the police were looking into the limewire and bearshare websites. for pottential prosections under copyright law.
but as you have been told by others limewire is peer to peer. basically multiple single users like you who have opened up there media files or selection there of for sharing.
however 99% of all files on the file share are tampered with and contain viruses, spyware and other little nasties. thats the main reason i stopped using the site.
you can simply set yahoo.messengers radiio option to include the artist you like and hope the song you like comes on so you can listen to it. alternatively visit one of the legal download sites, there are plenty of them now microsofts od2 or itunes to name but 2 microsfts dowload site is available from within windows mediaplayer 10 and above. both media player10 and the latest version are available from the microsoft website. www.microsoft.com
Reply:LimeWire is completely dependant on peers; meaning it's pretty much hit and miss. If you start downloading a song from someone, and they decide to disconnect from LimeWire, you no longer have a source.
When the download says it needs more sources, it means it needs people who have the file to be connected to the LimeWire network. If there isn't anyone, you can't download anything.
If it finds a source, and the download still doesn't progress, that means that either the peer you are downloading from isn't sending the file fast enough, or you aren't downloading it fast enough.
